Students will be working on a mini-project where they create a simple budget for a dinner party. They'll use the manipulatives to help plan, calculate costs, and make financial decisions. Each title seems to open a new door for my students. Whether it's exploring characters who face challenges with courage, diving into stories that spark big questions, or learning how to use clues from the text to make inferences. We've been practicing skills like identifying theme, analyzing character traits, and using evidence to support our ideas, but most importantly, we're learning how to think like readers—to wonder, predict, connect, and reflect.\r\n\r\nReading time in our room is one of the most joyful parts of our day. You'll find students curled up with their independent books, discussing what they've discovered with a partner, or jotting quick notes on sticky tabs to capture their thinking. Our read-alouds spark laughter, curiosity, and sometimes even quiet moments of reflection. There's a shared sense of excitement when someone finds a new favorite author or can't wait to recommend a story to a friend.
