I rely upon the generosity of people like you to be able to serve my students and give them wonderful art education experience. Your donation towards this project has meant so much to me and my students. I often find myself having to use my own money to buy supplies for my students. Your support to my project is both a blessing to me and my students. Thank you for helping me create a comfortable safe place for my students to relax and create art. \r\n\r\nI have provided some images of my students getting into the zone working while enjoying the comforts of the beautiful seating you funded. They also love creating paintings on canvas. I have provided images of the artwork they have created. Thank you for funding our purchase of canvas! My students also thoroughly enjoy the watercolors you funded. I have provided images of the beautiful artwork they have created. \r\nHaving a comfortable safe atmosphere for students to create and find peace helps to stop chronic absenteeism and allows them the space for self-discovery. As a result, my students are highly engaged in our consistent classroom routines, and I've been able to take my teaching to the next level. \r\n\r\nHaving a notebook for every student has laid the foundation for my classroom routines. Students know we use our notebooks every day, from the opening activity where they write down daily vocabulary, to our regular note-taking, to drafting written assignments. In addition to using notebooks to capture daily learning activities, students have enjoyed personalizing their notebooks, from highlighting key ideas to doodling in the margins. We're also working on organization, since students use their notes to support them with vocabulary quizzes and written assessments. \r\n\r\nThe addition of a document camera has been a complete game changer for my teaching. I no longer have to rely solely on my verbal explanation of a concept; now, I'm able to visually model my thinking process. For example, I can show students exactly how I annotate a complex text, or talk through my example essay outline to demonstrate how to organize ideas. I've seen a high level of engagement while reading and annotating now that students can follow along with my notes. This ensures that students have adequate support to complete writing assignments, since we read closely and take notes together. These are academic skills that transfer beyond my classroom as well. \r\n\r\nAs we near the end of the first semester, I look forward to leveraging the routines we've built to further student engagement. We're starting a new final essay assignment, and I look forward to students collaborating to gather evidence, using all the work we've done so far. I truly believe this is just the beginning, and I could not have done it without your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1755290674337,"projectUrl":"project/in-our-note-taking-era/9428599/","projectTitle":"In Our Note-Taking Era","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. DeStefano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8449184_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750694325318","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8449184"},{"teacherId":9852292,"projectId":9561851,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations to my classroom. We have been using all the supplies you helped provide on a variety of projects, many of which are new experiences for my students!\r\n\r\nWe have used the paints on a variety of artworks. We just finished a mixed media piece learning about Fauvism, focusing on animals, using bright colors. My students loved the neon paints that were available. \r\n\r\nI was able to introduce a weaving project thanks to your support. Weaving is calming for students and also builds their hand eye coordination. They all were very engaged with this project. It's a fun surprise watching them get so focused on it. \r\n\r\nAnd lastly! CLAY! Clay seems to always be the thing my students get most excited about. We are making vessels (trays, cups, bowls) that have an animal theme. The air dry clay is easier for them to learn with, and also has saved time in the classroom for me. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for donating to my students. Funding for supplies is always a struggle and with larger class sizes this year it has been very much appreciated. This project helped me supply folders, binders, paper, and pencils to over 200 students this school year. \r\n\r\nMy students in AP Precalculus are especially grateful for the supplies as they are able to organize their notes, projects, and class reviews as they prepare to take their AP exams this May.
