When the children first saw the Letter Blocks, Chain Links, Block People, and Vehicles, their excitement filled the room. They immediately began to explore, build, count, and interact with their classmates. A favorite classroom moment happened during small group time when we used the Letter Blocks to build the letters in the student's names and then worked together to identify other letters and their sounds and build simple words. The Chain Links became a favorite during math centers as the students practiced counting, sorting colors, and creating patterns while working independently and helping out their peers.\r\n\r\nThe Block People and Vehicles have inspired so much creativity and teamwork in my classroom. During dramatic play, students created an entire community together with roads, buildings, and characters, taking turns and practicing communication skills as they played. It has been wonderful to watch students begin engaging more confidently with classmates through cooperative play and storytelling activities. These resources have helped make learning hands-on, meaningful, and fun for my TK students.\r\n\r\nI am so grateful to my donors for helping create a classroom environment where curiosity, creativity, and friendship can grow every single day. The new puppet stand really lends itself to prompting interest in creating new shows since they can easily see the puppets. This develops language and imaginative play which is essential in TK. The marble track is a fun way to explore different directions and movement using marbles. The testing aspect is thrilling at this age and the kids love to watch the marble move. Lastly, the view masters and slides are a great way to see pictures of animals and insects that they normally can't watch in detail.
