Your generous support is already making a meaningful difference in the lives of students with intellectual disabilities, autism, and emotional-behavioral disorders (EBD). The sensory tools—like the fidget toys, oral chewy necklaces, and noise-cancelling headphones—are helping students self-regulate and remain focused throughout the day and when on field trips outside of school. One of our non-verbal fourth graders, who absolutely loves music, has especially taken to the xylophone, using it as a joyful and expressive outlet. The dry erase boards have also become a daily go-to for interactive math practice. In fact, one EBD student will only complete math problems if they are written on the whiteboard, as they are triggered by paper-based assignments. \r\n\r\nThe biggest hit so far has been the snap circuits, which are used not only for hands-on learning but also as calming regulation breaks. Students in grades 3–6 gravitate toward this tool for both engagement and relaxation—especially those who are passionate about science. Your kindness has brought both excitement and peace into our learning space, and I truly believe it's helping these bright, capable students show the world what they can do. Your support has made a significant impact on our students' literacy development, which is crucial for their academic success and overall growth. Literacy is not just about reading and writing; it is the foundation upon which students build their knowledge and understanding of the world around them. With your donations, we have been able to acquire a variety of reading materials tailored to the diverse needs of our students. These resources are not only engaging but also designed to cater to different learning styles, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to improve their literacy skills. Your contributions have allowed us to create a rich and supportive learning environment that fosters a love for reading and learning. As we know, literacy is a vital skill that opens doors to countless opportunities, and your generosity plays a crucial role in helping our students achieve their full potential. My students were absolutely thrilled to receive the items, especially the LEGO, which has become a wonderful tool for them to use with self-regulating. Engaging in hands-on activities like these helps create a calm atmosphere, allowing them to relax after completing various tasks. The excitement has been palpable, and it's heartwarming to see them so engaged and happy. The wooden puzzle has also been a favorite, encouraging them to explore different problem-solving strategies. It's particularly rewarding to witness kids who typically struggle with relationships in the general education classroom working together and problem-solving, fostering connections that are essential for their growth.\r\n\r\nMany of my students, who are primarily in grades 1-3, benefit greatly from tactile tools that aid in understanding emotions and self-regulation. Your support helps meet their sensory needs and provides an environment where they can feel safe and free from judgment. I also have a few older students who appreciate having a space to relax and decompress. The resources you provided not only help them engage meaningfully but also contribute to their social-emotional development.
