These books have already made an impact on student engagement and materials circulation; in fact, I was unable to grab photos of some of the books because they are already checked out! With more high-interest texts available for independent reading, students are developing stronger reading habits both through the classroom and independently. Teachers, too, are benefiting by using these resources to support instruction aligned to our state reading standards.\r\n\r\nOne of the most important additions for our student population is the increased availability of Spanish-language books. Our Spanish-speaking students are able to strengthen their literacy skills by reading in the language they know best while building comprehension and vocabulary (through the side-by-side Spanish and English texts available). This gives students tools that affirm their identity and support their academic growth and success.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, manga and graphic novels are helpful for our reluctant readers. These formats capture students' interest quickly, encouraging them to check out books more readily than they do traditional novels. By meeting students where they are, we are creating a welcoming reading culture that values choice and helps every learner recognize they ARE a reader! Thank you again for making a positive difference in our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1746787371782,"projectUrl":"project/read-return-repeat/9136023/","projectTitle":"Read, Return, Repeat!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7988294_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1646762690094","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/chargerlibrary"},{"teacherId":8642740,"projectId":8988253,"letterContent":"My students and I cannot thank you enough for the snacks, sensory toys, Legos, and beautiful plants that you so generously donated to our classroom. We have used them in multiple ways; in addition to adding natural beauty to our studio, we have used the plants as models for continuous contour line drawings, students regularly grab the sensory toys when they need something quiet to fidget with, the Legos have been constructed by many an early finisher, and lastly... countless hungry students have enjoyed the snacks when they otherwise would have gone hungry. My students were delighted when they first saw the new items, and so touched to have a snack when needed. They adore the plants daily, and they really feel homey to them.\r\nWe will continue to use and hopefully build upon all of these items. In fact, the plants will be featured in an upcoming Still Life drawing lesson in the Art Studio, and I have many students inspired to make planters for them in the Ceramics Studio!","fullyFundedDate":1739373225202,"projectUrl":"project/mental-health-matters/8988253/","projectTitle":"Mental Health Matters","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wilson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8642740_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661540585719","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8642740"},{"teacherId":8644401,"projectId":9132512,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for this opportunity.
