Each child has their own square, and it is well marked and delineated. Children in PreK rely on visuals to help them self-regulate and to improve their visual spatial awareness. The carpet has improved focus and attention. \r\n\r\nOne of the best times we have had with the carpet so far was when we were working on scissor skills. Every year our kids get to cut colorful paper into confetti for a carpet confetti party. Our kids couldn't wait to decorate our new carpet with their creations. It was like a big ticker tape parade that day.\r\n\r\nIn the past our students were not at all interested in picking up after such a fun event. Not now! Once they were finished throwing the colorful paper, they were just as excited to tidy it up. Never once did the old raggedy carpet get such a cleanup! They are all so proud of the beautiful addition to our classroom.\r\n\r\nThere is nothing like being able to retire a decades old classroom carpet that has seen better days.","fullyFundedDate":1755721914489,"projectUrl":"project/my-body-my-space-comfy-classroom-carpet/9576801/","projectTitle":"My Body, My Space-Comfy Classroom Carpet Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Heffernan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8664841_orig.jpg?crop=574,574,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755281887340","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8664841"},{"teacherId":2222424,"projectId":8480884,"letterContent":"My students were very excited to receive these supplies. We have literacy circle in the morning and small group instruction in the afternoon, and they are my go-to resource. \r\n\r\nWhen the students saw thehand2mind Rainbow Lowercase Magnetic Letters, they were thrilled that the letters are fun happy colors. There isn't a four-year-old out there that doesn't love a RAINBOW! My students love to sort them by color, shape size, and our child with ASD loves to run his hands through them in the big sensory bin.\r\n\r\nThe hand2mind Little Minds at Work Sound Segmenting Trays are so much bigger than I had imagined! They are the perfect size for my PreK scholars. Our speech impaired student is already making gains in consonant letter sounds with the help of the hand2mind Talking Mirror My Sounds Phoneme Set. It has the speech sound cue cards along with the audio and the mirror. It's improved is intelligibility immensely. \r\n\r\nThe hand2mind Mnemonic Picture Alphabet Jumbo Flash Cards are a big favorite of my struggling learners who have working memory deficits. The jumbo size and the mnemonic pictures are just what they need to retain the letter names and sounds.\r\n\r\nI can't say enough good things about the quality of the hand2mind literacy materials you so generously provided for us. You have made pre reading skills a pleasure to teach with a group of students for whom learning can be a real struggle.","fullyFundedDate":1747853002886,"projectUrl":"project/letters-sounds-and-how-words-work-a-mul/9207858/","projectTitle":"Letters Sounds and How Words Work- a Multisensory approach","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Heffernan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8664841_orig.jpg?crop=574,574,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755281887340","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8664841"},{"teacherId":8664841,"projectId":9170428,"letterContent":"My students were so excited to unpack the puppets and the stage. We had been working on retelling stories but so many of my students had a hard time acting out the story...until the puppets arrived! Each child gravitated to the puppet that most resembled themselves, which is why multi cultural puppets were so important to me.\r\n\r\nIncreasing our pre kindergarten's language skills is the most important standard that we teach. These puppets were a game changer. \r\n\r\n You could see the improvement in our language skills through the FL standardized test the governor requires us to give to our PreK4 students. We had some of the highest scores in the district. \r\n\r\nI know there are many grants out there that you could choose to fund, but you chose our class. I can't thank you enough. She is the one dancing in the photos that I shared.\r\n\r\nWhen it first arrived my kids were ecstatic. They had been painting on a small table with small water color paint sets and were bored.
