The students have really enjoyed getting to use the new cameras that were purchased. Each student learned about the \"rules\" of photography, such as the \"rule of thirds\" in order to create more pleasing compositions with the cameras. We also got to try out different subject matter such as Portraits, Still Life, Action, and Macro photography.\r\n\r\nThe new cameras really made a big difference. The quality of the pictures was much better than that of the older cameras that we were using before. We also didn't have to run through so many batteries because the new cameras are rechargeable. Your donation allowed us to purchase essential supplies like clay, glazes, and tools—and just as importantly, a much-needed baker's rack for storing our works-in-progress. The addition of the rack has made a tremendous difference in keeping our classroom organized and our students' creations safe as they dry. It has quickly become one of the most valued tools in our workspace.\r\n\r\nThis project gave students the chance to explore their creativity in meaningful, hands-on ways. For some, it was their first time working in ceramics, and they were excited and proud to see their ideas take shape in clay. Your support has made a lasting impact, not only by enriching our art curriculum but by fostering a deeper sense of pride, patience, and ownership in their learning. My students (50 of them) use them three times (or more) a week. With the headphones, the classroom noise is cut down so we are not listening to the computer talk as well as the student read. The data received is detailed and I am able to update students and parents on reading progress. The reports let me know the current reading level, the projected reading level as well as strategies to use with each student to help close reading gaps showing up in their reading. This group has definite gaps as they were in first grade during COVID and lost some crucial instruction. We are finding that the program used with the headphones is helping us close those gaps.\r\nI appreciate your kindness and generosity to my class.","fullyFundedDate":1726184270214,"projectUrl":"project/helping-students-hear-happily-with-quali/8658367/","projectTitle":"Helping Students Hear Happily with Quality Headphones","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Curtis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3352963"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_6150","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1036,"numTeachers":57,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":41,"percentWhite":32,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"18.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":70.0,"schoolId":6150,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mauldin Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mauldin Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/greenville-county-schools/mauldin-elementary-school/6150"}
