Because I work with the early grades (K-2), I am teaching my students to count with one to one correspondence. I have many boys in my classes who love dinosaurs and vehicles. I am ordering a variety (dinosaurs, vehicles, magnetic ten frames) of counters to use with my students with special needs for teaching counting. I will use these counters for years to come, since I get new students each year. Using counters that the students are interested in, insures that they will attend to the task through repeated practices. They will have so much more fun counting things they like!
