In a podcast project focused on Latin countries, students used headphones to create interviews in which they shared their insights into different countries through the lens of artists. This technology bridges the gap between classroom learning and practical application. What might seem like a simple tool at home becomes a powerful teaching instrument in schools, allowing us to create immersive learning experiences that deepen cultural understanding.\r\n\r\n The most exciting part? Watching my students discover their own voices—literally and figuratively. Many students who typically sit quietly in class became podcast hosts, researchers, and storytellers, sharing fascinating discoveries about Hispanic heritage with genuine enthusiasm. I've noticed that students who struggle with traditional participation have especially embraced this project; the headphones gave them a private space to practice, make mistakes, and refine their work before sharing with the class. It offered students a different way to demonstrate their learning. One student who rarely volunteered in discussions ended up creating a beautifully researched segment on Puerto Rican culture and was beaming with pride when we listened together.
