The rug has become the focal point in our room. The students gather on it daily to listen to whole group instruction and it also gives me a place to sit with them when I do our read alouds at the end of the day. When it is time for independent or group work, the rug is where everyone gathers. It has created a warm and welcoming space in our classroom that the students love. It also provides a place for some of my students who need movement in their day, to stretch out while they do their work. I can't imagine our classroom without this rug.
