As part of our science curriculum, sound is a unit we all enjoy thoroughly. What first grade student doesn't love to be told by their teacher to purposely make a lot of sound and given tools to make it in various ways? They were all so surprised and delighted when I opened the package in front of them and took out all the materials.\r\n\r\nWe were able to do a whole-group lesson with the tuning forks, rubber mallets (my first time using them), stainless steel dog bowls, and water. It was a bit messy but the joy I saw as they were experimenting what to do and the best way to make the sound vibrate the longest and loudest was immense!\r\n\r\nOnce we finished our unit on sound we moved onto light, which they also enjoyed, but I have a feeling sound will remain one of their core favorite first grade memories...all because of your generosity.
