Because of your generosity, my students now have access to engaging rainforest books that are bringing our learning to life in meaningful ways. Seeing their excitement as they explore new vocabulary, ask thoughtful questions, and make connections to the world beyond our classroom has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nThese books are more than just resources—they are opening doors for curiosity, deeper comprehension, and a love of reading. For many of my students, this is their first time truly immersing themselves in nonfiction topics like the rainforest, and your donation has made that possible. You've helped create opportunities for them to grow not only as readers, but as thinkers.\r\n\r\nI am truly grateful for your kindness and investment in our classroom. One particularly meaningful project we were able to do this year was a watercolor painting of dandelions, inspired by the book Carmela Full of Wishes by Matt de la Peña.\r\n\r\nAfter reading the story together and discussing the themes of hope, family, and making wishes, my students used donated watercolor sets and brushes to paint their own dandelions—each one representing a wish they held close to their hearts. Some wished for a puppy, others for peace, and a few for their family members to be happy and safe. The art supplies allowed them to express those wishes visually, creating a connection between literature, art, and their own personal stories.\r\n\r\nMany of my students had never used watercolor paints before. Watching them explore how colors blended and how they could create soft, wispy dandelions with just a few brushstrokes was magical. They were engaged, focused, and proud of their work. It sparked deep conversations about empathy, dreams, and resilience—all through a simple yet powerful art project.\r\n\r\nWithout the donated supplies, this experience wouldn't have been possible. Your generosity provided not just paint and paper, but also the opportunity for emotional growth, creative exploration, and meaningful learning.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this moment—and so many others—possible.","fullyFundedDate":1660775722674,"projectUrl":"project/first-grade-artists/6638760/","projectTitle":"First Grade Artists","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rad","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-rad"},{"teacherId":5628582,"projectId":9422573,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity.
