Your donation gifted me a computer that can act as a laptop or fold open to be a tablet, allowing various angles and flexibility in its presentation. This is crucial for me, as I teach students who have significant disabilities, and are attending school in their home as their medical challenges do not allow them to safely attend school. Sometimes they are in bed, sometimes they are in a wheelchair or other physical therapy devices, such as a stander or walker. Having technology that adapts to them means allowing them to learn regardless of their positioning. It allows them to watch videos and interact with the screen through touch at whatever angle or height they need. All of my students are non-verbal, so having access to technology and being able to make a selection on the screen that then \"talks\" for them, or links to a video that gives them more information is engaging, motivating and educational for these students. Technology gives them a bridge between their world and ours and allow them to express thoughts as a nonverbal student.\r\n\r\nI am very excited to try out new interactive cause and effect games that I have been researching, as well as some of the communication boards I have been using with software provided by the district. Once the device arrives, I will be able to load all the content onto it and get it into the hands of students!\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your consideration and donation to this population of student. They are often overlooked and often do not have access to technology because they are not present on a school campus. But the education they receive in their home should be fun, engaging and at the same standards as their peers. This device will help me provide them with the best quality education possible. Thank you so much.","fullyFundedDate":1768588838348,"projectUrl":"project/technology-in-the-home/10018340/","projectTitle":"Technology in the Home","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bartlett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8109973_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768277188438","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8109973"},{"teacherId":8107884,"projectId":9128565,"letterContent":"Thank you for your contributions to this project. The students have an enriched school day in which they now have the means to access more of the math curriculum. We have created lighted and functional number lines for our visually impaired students. We have provided tactile manipulatives to increase number sense, and we now have diverse ways of practicing and teaching basic math foundations to our students.
