I have 100 students total and with that comes many different personalities. Some students love guitar/orchestra class but others need a bit more motivation. Many students are so motivated to work now that they can earn snacks for their efforts. I've given every student a reward chart where they must earn a certain amount of stickers in order to get a snack. I have many students asking if they can play music I haven't even gone over just so they can earn another sticker to their rewards chart. \r\n\r\nThe blankets helped tremendously as now they can be comfortable in my classroom. I had students bringing in their own blankets just for my class. The comfort the blankets provide help my students concentrate on their work and playing. \r\n\r\nThere are many things to write in our music to bring out the best of our performance. The binders and pencils set up us to be successful in that area. As I am in a Title 1 school, many students simply do not have the ability to have all the material necessary for their classes. \r\n\r\nI'm so grateful and thankful for your help. My campus is shutting down next year so these items help make this final year as smooth as possible for all of us.","fullyFundedDate":1760693751439,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-orchestra-and-guitar-classes/9757893/","projectTitle":"Help My Orchestra and Guitar Classes!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Balandrano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10278597"},{"teacherId":6891261,"projectId":9043262,"letterContent":"The school year is quickly coming to a close. The blue color of the shoe matches our game jersey's perfectly. Your donation allowed many students to play basketball this season without having to worry about purchasing new basketball shoes. Since some of the shoe sizes were out of stock, I was able to get some blue and yellow jersey's to help see who is on which team when we have a practice scrimmage. I was also able to get a basketball sticky mat for use during our games. Their faces lit up with excitement as they eagerly explored the fresh supplies and equipment, grateful for the thoughtful additions. Some of them couldn't contain their joy, sharing their enthusiasm with their classmates and expressing heartfelt thanks for the new resources that would make their learning experience even better. The sense of gratitude and joy was contagious, filling the classroom with positive energy and making it an even more special place to learn.\r\n\r\nWe've been making the most of the new resources in so many fun and creative ways! The bean bags and pillows have quickly become a favorite spot for students to gather for group discussions and independent reading, offering a cozy environment that helps them feel relaxed and engaged. The rugs have transformed our classroom into a more inviting and comfortable space, allowing us to sit together for circle time or story sharing. One of the most memorable moments was during our motor skills game day when the students used the new games to work on coordination and teamwork. They had a blast playing and cheering each other on, and it was amazing to see their motor skills improve while also building friendships. These new additions have truly made our classroom a more dynamic and enjoyable place for learning and connection.\r\n\r\nAs we near the end of the year, our focus is shifting towards preparing the 8th graders for the transition to high school while wrapping up our current classroom project. We'll be taking it a bit easier, giving the students time to reflect on their learning and goals while also offering some valuable life skills for the next chapter. In addition, we're excited to start planning an end-of-year field trip to an autism/disability-friendly park or entertainment venue, where all the students can enjoy a fun and inclusive experience. This trip will not only give them a well-deserved break but also provide an opportunity to celebrate their growth over the year in a setting that's designed to be accessible and welcoming to everyone. We're looking forward to making this a memorable and meaningful conclusion to the school year!","fullyFundedDate":1738796416223,"projectUrl":"project/a-comfortable-space-is-a-safe-place/9082102/","projectTitle":"A Comfortable Space Is a Safe Place","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9713687_orig.jpg?crop=1000,1000,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725383588786","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9713687"},{"teacherId":9655276,"projectId":8649040,"letterContent":"I can't thank you enough for your generosity! The moment my students saw the supplies, their faces lit up with excitement, especially because of the candy. Having their own interactive notebooks, markers, and glue sticks has made a huge difference in how they engage with their learning. Our lessons have been more interactive, and I've seen a real boost in their participation.\r\n\r\nThe cleaning supplies have also been a lifesaver. Creating interactive notebooks can get messy, but now my students are learning to take responsibility for their workspace, which is just as important as the math they're mastering. And the small rewards (ie candy)? Let's just say that's been a great motivator! Your kindness has made our classroom a more supportive, engaging place where students feel more excited to learn.
