Your contribution has made a tangible difference, helping us create a space where my students feel supported, seen, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThe Impact of Your Donation\r\nThe new resources have completely transformed our classroom environment. The surge protectors and pencil organizers have been incredibly practical. My students, many of whom are working hard on their Edgenuity assignments, can now easily charge their devices and keep their supplies organized. This has cut down on distractions and allowed them to stay focused and make real progress.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was when we were all working on our Edgenuity courses. A student who had been struggling with his attendance and coursework suddenly smiled. He was so proud to show me how he had managed to get caught up on all his assignments for the first time in weeks. He told me it felt good to have all his supplies organized and his laptop fully charged, and it made him feel ready to tackle his work. That moment showed me just how much these small, practical tools can impact a student's confidence and motivation.\r\n\r\nThe educational posters and wall collage kits have created a truly welcoming and inclusive space. When the posters went up, the students' reactions were amazing. They were so excited to see figures who looked like them and shared their heritage on the walls. One student pointed to a poster of a Black woman scientist and said, \"She's so cool! I want to be like her one day.\" It sparked a lively conversation about how representation matters and how anyone can achieve great things. This sense of pride and inspiration has made them more eager to participate and has deepened their connection to the classroom.\r\n\r\nWhat's Next for Our Classroom\r\nYour donation has given my students the tools they need to succeed academically and feel a sense of belonging. The next step is to continue building on this momentum. We plan to use the new resources as a foundation for a classroom project where students will create their own \"Legacy Wall.\" They will research and design a poster of someone who has inspired them, whether it's a historical figure, a community leader, or a family member. This project will celebrate their own identities and what they aspire to be, further connecting them to our classroom community.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping us make our classroom a place where every student feels seen, supported, and ready to learn. We are so grateful for your belief in our students.","fullyFundedDate":1750702189817,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-inclusive-classrooms-diversi/9428524/","projectTitle":"Empowering Inclusive Classrooms: Diversity & History Project","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chaoui","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9608046_orig.jpg?crop=340,340,x230,y373&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721926007773","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/miss-chaoui"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_68362","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2813,"numTeachers":124,"percentFrplEligible":49,"percentAsian":10,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":32,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":44,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"22.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.7,"schoolId":68362,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Martin Luther King High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Martin Luther King High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/riverside-unified-school-district/martin-luther-king-high-school/68362"}
