Your kindness has brought an extraordinary burst of color, creativity, and joy into our classroom. \r\n\r\nBecause of you, my students now have the tools such as watercolor pencils, paper, painting trays and a drying rack to use to explore art with confidence. They were able to paint their first Halloween background with the watercolors. In addition, they created drawings of their favorite Disney's Jim Henson Muppet. We spent a week learning about people who contributed to their community and one of those individuals was Jim Henson. The students were so excited to learn about all the characters that he created, then they were tasked to write and draw their favorite character. They had such a blast, and I loved all of their beautiful creations.\r\n\r\nFor my children, these materials are more than supplies: they are opportunities to express themselves, build fine-motor skills, and experience the pride that comes from creating something of their very own. Our art bulletin never looked better and was an immense source of pride for the whole class. Your support sends a powerful message to my young learners, their ideas matter, their creativity matters, they matter. Thank you for investing in their growth and for helping me create a learning environment where curiosity is encouraged and every child can shine.\r\n\r\nI am deeply grateful for you and Disney's generosity and commitment to my students. Please know that the smiles, excitement and masterpieces unfolding in my classroom are possible because of you.","fullyFundedDate":1755887229982,"projectUrl":"project/lets-create/9287460/","projectTitle":"Let's Create!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hastings","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8805247"},{"teacherId":139024,"projectId":9148464,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for your gracious donation to our classroom. When the project was written and funded, I was planning on teaching seventh grade this school year. Once the materials shipped, my teaching assignment was changed to second grade. With that being said, the second graders are more excited for the science lessons than the seventh grade students were. \r\n\r\nWe have already used the insects and learned about how to write a claim, evidence, and response. My class' explanations were amazing. They each were given an insect in resin, had to determine what that insect was and give their reasoning. They did great!\r\n\r\nThey have seen the leaves and mushrooms. In the fall we are going to have a huge unit on trees and our forests. We will defiantly be using those at that time. The biggest hit was defiantly the volcano! I am asked daily, it not multiple times per day when we are going to be learning about volcanoes. Although it will be a little bit later in the school year, they are ready. Thank you for making my now second graders' year with all of the science supplies.","fullyFundedDate":1746737382002,"projectUrl":"project/why-is-the-environment-important/9148464/","projectTitle":"Why is The Environment Important?","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Watrous","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/139024"},{"teacherId":2478593,"projectId":9325880,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom! I have NEVER seen my students having so much fun and occupied for a solid three hours straight! \r\n\r\nMy students were able to work in pairs. Each group was given a tin with rocks/minerals in sand, magnifying glasses, paint brushes, and tweezers. They had to \"dig\" out the rocks and minerals using only the tweezers and paint brushes. Then they needed to come up with a way to categorize their finds. Once they needed to research and determine what types of rocks and minerals that found. While they were researching, I was able to walk around with a blacklight and we were able to learn about how some minerals are fluorescent! They thought that was AMAZING!\r\n\r\nTo top off this awesome day, each student was able to go outside and break their own geode. This prompted a small crowd of other students (younger grades) who have all decided to request my class when they are in 7th grade. Once my class was finished breaking geodes we researched those as well. We discussed how they are formed and they carefully put their geodes in a bag to take home. \r\n\r\nThank you again for giving my group of students this opportunity. Things like this do not happen often for my students.
