Your generosity has made flexible seating possible for every student and has already had a noticeable, positive impact on learning and classroom culture.\r\n\r\nWobble chairs are definitely students' favorite choice of seating! Students love being able to rock and wiggle on them to help them focus while still allowing controlled movement. We attached stretchy bands to chair legs so students who need subtle sensory input can quietly move their legs while working. It is always a funny moment when a student stretches just a little too far and it snaps back on them. The beautiful floor cushions help create inviting alternative workspaces for students. Many love to snuggle up with one or use it as back support while they are working. \r\n\r\nWhen I brought the new items into the room and opened up the boxes, the students were so excited! There were audible cheers and an immediate buzz of excitement. They spent the first few minutes trying out the wobble chairs and helping me set up the stretchy bands. Many had never tried these options before and now they have come to depend on these options to help get out their wiggles. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous support. These items are already making a meaningful difference in students' science learning. I appreciate your investment in a classroom where every student can find a comfortable, productive way to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1763155465007,"projectUrl":"project/switch-that-seat/9862759/","projectTitle":"Switch That Seat!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Beckman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10334906_orig.jpg?crop=2544,2544,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761675875957","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/meganbeckman"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_67277","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1359,"numTeachers":60,"percentFrplEligible":20,"percentAsian":37,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":35,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"22.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":91.3,"schoolId":67277,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Marshall Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Marshall Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/san-diego-unified-school-district/marshall-middle-school/67277"}
