The headphones have made a big impact during technology time by helping students stay focused while working on reading programs, watching instructional videos, and completing assessments. Many students get easily distracted, so having their own headphones allows them to fully engage and better understand what they are learning.\r\nMy students have been especially excited about the new books in our classroom library, including The Bad Guys, Cat Kid Comic Club, Percy Jackson, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. These series have sparked a new level of excitement for reading, especially among my more reluctant readers. The sensory stickers have also been a favorite, helping students manage their emotions, stay calm, and remain focused throughout the day.\r\nI have seen some of my students who typically struggle with attention and engagement show noticeable growth. We have increased our reading fluency and accuracy from 11 words per minute to 85 words per minute during our last progress monitoring. These students were at high risk in reading and they are starting to catch up by becoming life-long learners which is my goal as a teacher. My reading block is in the afternoon after lunch and recess which is a challenge because students start to feel tired. This is challenging for my students and myself to stay focused on reading and maintain momentum to reach our personal and grade level goals.\r\n In small group instruction the students use the self-stick color dots to write their ideas to answer questions about the text we are reading. The independent students use the seat cushions to read with buddies and find a cozy place to discuss their reading books.
