When their classes visit each week, they take their book out of their pouch and turn it in to be checked in. Then, after they find their new library book, they find their pouch with their name on it and place their book inside, zipping it up to be safe and sound. They were so excited to get their pouches and to use them! \r\nThey know that the pouch goes in their backpack for a safe travel to their house, where they can take it out and read their book with Mom or Dad or another family member. Our Pre-K 4 students are learning how to read in class, and they come to the library to listen to a story and check out a book to take home each week. The books we had on hand were older and showing their wear and tear from being circulated so often amongst our young readers. The variety of titles was also getting old, as there were only so many titles of books for our readers to choose from. \r\n\r\nThis project helped add so many new titles as well as helped replace copies of fan favorites like Pete the Cat and Biscuit.
