Students use the manipulatives during math to strengthen their understanding of addition, subtraction, and early geometry. During STEM time, they are building, designing, and testing ideas that encourage creativity, collaboration, and persistence.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include weekly STEM stations where students will rotate through design challenges, simple machine exploration, and early coding tasks. This project included many items for the health room at the elementary school.\r\n\r\nToday I am teaching the puberty lesson to 5th graders and each of them will leave with a goodie bag of personal hygiene supplies (appropriate to the sex of the student) to begin their journey into and through puberty. I have always taught students about these supplies but to be able to send them home with some of them this year will really impact how these lessons apply to them.\r\n\r\nAnother portion of this project was for lens cleaning wipes for student glasses. Elementary students are not the best at keeping their lenses clean and that impacts how well the glasses are working for them.
