These essentials have made a big difference for our students and school community. We are using the donated essentials, including laundry detergent, socks, hairbrushes, deodorant, and loofahs, to stock our food pantry and clothes closet so students can access items they may need without feeling embarrassed or having to go without. When students first saw the new supplies, they were excited to see the pantry and clothes closet growing and everyday items available to take home. One moment that stood out to me was seeing students realize that they could find something as simple as clean socks or personal care items at school when they needed them. They asked, \"How much are you selling them for?\"...and seeing their faces light up when I told them, \"They are free and here for you when you need them\". It was heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Knowing we could help take a little bit of the financial burden from their families, and all thanks to wonderful people like you. These resources help us support the whole student and remind our students that their well-being matters.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue organizing and stocking the pantry and clothes closet, so they are easily accessible to students throughout the school year. We are also working on finding an alternative T-shirt option so that we can still provide students with clothing they need. We want to make sure our students have access to essentials that can help them feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. The generosity of our donors is helping us build a space where students know they can come to school, ask for help, and find support without judgment.
