With the addition of this extra kit, I was able to form four fully functioning teams, each equipped with the tools necessary to explore STEM concepts hands-on. This expansion not only increased engagement but also allowed for more individualized participation, ensuring that every student could take on a meaningful role within their group. Students began by learning how to build the basic robots, gaining confidence as they understood the structure and mechanics behind each model. From there, they progressed to coding, starting with simple commands to make their robots move.\r\n\r\nAs their skills grew, students learned a few basic navigation techniques, and then their creativity truly took off. They began brainstorming real-life applications for their robots and started designing original projects. One team created a working drawbridge that opened on command, while another designed a robot capable of drawing with a marker—a project that sparked a cool video to use in next year's coding class. Each student had the chance to play the role of builder, creator, engineer, and coder, collaborating and problem-solving in real time. The classroom transformed into an energetic lab of innovation and teamwork, and the students had a blast bringing their imaginative ideas to life.","fullyFundedDate":1742472645348,"projectUrl":"project/brick-by-brick-and-code-by-code/9126388/","projectTitle":"Brick by Brick and Code by Code","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McKnight","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4225916_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1494628660094","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4225916"},{"teacherId":9921348,"projectId":9108869,"letterContent":"It took until I was 40 to know what I wanted to be when I grew up. Having substitute taught at an elementary school for the past few years, getting my first full-time teaching job in junior high this year was a bit of a shock and left me wondering if I had officially lost my mind. This school year has exceeded every expectation, and I can genuinely say I love teaching in junior high. I was prepared (as one can be) for elementary-level life with books and supplies and years of teacher friends willing to donate and help in any way they could. After the venue change, I started from scratch with books and class supplies until you came along. \r\n\r\nAs a history major teaching English, my passion is ensuring students learn about the past, even though it is in an English class. Through the book Al Capone Does My Shirts, students will engage in a fun-to-read book while also learning about California's history of Alcatraz Penitentiary and the colorful people who passed through it, all through the eyes of a 6th-grade boy. I want the books they read in class to be ones they look forward to reading while also teaching them more than simply grammar and spelling. This book does both, and thanks to your incredible generosity, I can do so. I appreciate you sponsoring a book and look forward to returning students to the 1930s.","fullyFundedDate":1739409357880,"projectUrl":"project/al-capone-does-my-shirts/9108869/","projectTitle":"Al Capone Does My Shirts:","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lukenbill","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9921348_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y772&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739302664476","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9921348"},{"teacherId":4225916,"projectId":8953379,"letterContent":"This project has unlocked so many exciting opportunities!
