They could hardly contain their enthusiasm as we unboxed the materials together, eagerly pointing out all the colorful tracks, magnetic tiles, and endless possibilities for building. Their immediate curiosity set a joyous, energetic tone for the entire week!\r\n\r\nSince introducing these resources, our classroom has transformed into a hands-on engineering lab. Recently, my students worked in small teams to design and build custom marble runs with specific challenges—such as creating a path that kept a marble moving for at least ten seconds or incorporating twists, turnarounds, and ramps. It was inspiring to watch them experiment with momentum and gravity, test their ideas, collaborate through trial and error, and celebrate with loud cheers whenever a marble successfully completed a complex track.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are using these magnetic and marble building tools to deepen our study of basic physical science concepts like magnetism, kinetic energy, and structural balance. Next, the students will be taking on a \"bridge-building challenge\" to construct magnetic structures capable of supporting specific weights. Thank you so much for bringing these interactive, enriching STEM experiences to our classroom—your generosity has truly made a lasting impact on my students' learning!","fullyFundedDate":1778432440536,"projectUrl":"project/marvelous-marbles-and-magnetic-masterpie/10250437/","projectTitle":"Marvelous Marbles and Magnetic Masterpieces","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wilson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8364332"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_58837","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":962,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":12,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":62,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":22,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":9,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"21.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":58837,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Madison Richard C Simis School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Madison Richard C Simis School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/madison-school-district/madison-richard-c-simis-school/58837"}
