It was very moving to receive such swift and positive response to our need for art supplies for the club. It showed us that our community really cares about our students and their interest in expressing themselves creatively.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials started arriving, it was exciting to start sharing them with our students. With your help we have been able to give these talented kids high quality materials and tools, and give them opportunities to express themselves through different art mediums. Art Club is a place for students to have time to nourish their creativity and experiment with various materials and techniques. Quality papers, paints, and other media really help students explore the possibilities. (Watercolor techniques for example, need paper that stays flat and holds the paint where it's placed).\r\n\r\nEach week we explore a new art medium or technique. Kids have spent a lot of time with watercolors (the paints and paper that we received are of great quality, so the pieces the kids make look beautiful and vibrant). They also spent a couple weeks before the winter holidays with block printing, the inks that were donated were well used on making holiday cards and fun prints. Other materials that were purchased with the donations and are being used by the kids during every club session are colored pencils, markers, artists tape, and various types of paper.\r\n\r\nWe see that the Art Club is a place for these kids to express themselves without judgment, among other artistic peers. It is a very special and positive place for them. Thank you for making it a place filled with great materials that the kids can use to express themselves.\r\n\r\nWith deep gratitude,\r\n\r\nArt club facilitators: Christy and Ksenya","fullyFundedDate":1763312335398,"projectUrl":"project/after-school-art-club-supplies-needed/9865094/","projectTitle":"After School Art Club Supplies Needed!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. DeWolf","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10335962_orig.jpg?crop=1155,1155,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762471689047","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10335962"},{"teacherId":10319757,"projectId":9843737,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation to our DogTag store at Madison Middle School. For years, we have tried to find a way to reward and recognize our students that follow our Bulldog Bark (B e prepared A lways safe R espect self and others K indness is key) Every day, we have students demonstrating exemplary behavior and our teachers will give them a DogTag. In years past, we've only been able to reward them with small pieces of candy. Now, with your donation, we have been able to provide a variety of items that students can redeem with their DogTags. \r\n\r\nEvery time we open the DogTag store, we are met with a long, steady line of students ready to redeem their tags. Students are excited to see what we offer every week and participate in raffles for big ticket items. The most valuable piece of this is that having a well stocked store encourages students to demonstrate BARK behavior. Earning DogTags is a motivator for students to go above and beyond in and out of the classroom.\r\n\r\nA fully funded store has also meant we are able to open it more frequently, with students doing everything they can to earn more DogTags they can use at the store. Teachers appreciate this more immediate reward for student behavior and can use it as an incentive in their classroom.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for your donation. When the boxes arrived and we unpacked everything—from the colorful Tinikling poles to the jump ropes and rhythm sticks—the kids were so excited. One student even asked, \"Are these really for us?\" It felt like Christmas morning in the gym!\r\n\r\nWe've already been putting everything to good use. The Tinikling poles were a big hit—we used them to explore rhythm and teamwork, and I got to share a part of my Filipino culture with the class, which meant so much to me. The rhythm sticks have added music and coordination to our routines, and the horseshoe set and cone toppers helped us create fun outdoor games that everyone could enjoy. The Chinese jump ropes brought back old-school playground fun, and the voice amplifier has been a game-changer for helping me teach in a loud gym!\r\n\r\nNext, we're planning a \"Fit & Fun Day\" where students will create their own activity stations using all the new equipment. It's going to be a celebration of movement, teamwork, and joy—and it wouldn't be possible without you.
