Because of your support, our classroom now has a dedicated space for anchor charts and modeling strategies that isn't hidden behind a projector screen. This easel allows my students to gather close on the rug for whole-group lessons, making our learning time far more interactive, focused, and personal.\r\n\r\nWe have already put it to wonderful use to kick off the new school year! We began by creating anchor charts to explore our feelings, mapping out the shared \"first-day jitters\" we all experience. Because the easel is double-sided, it also doubles as our daily polling station. Each morning, students vote on a fun \"This or That\" question—a simple routine that sparks great discussions and helps build a strong, inclusive classroom community where every student's voice is seen and valued.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our classroom and giving my students a front-row seat to their own learning!","fullyFundedDate":1778020877610,"projectUrl":"project/easel-does-it/10227060/","projectTitle":"Easel Does It","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Abbott","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8883103_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1783372102538","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8883103"},{"teacherId":8883103,"projectId":10186294,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity in supplying our classroom with brand-new dry erase boards and markers! My students have enthusiastically embraced their new name for them: our \"mini brain boards.\"\r\n\r\nThese boards provide an essential, low-pressure space where mistakes aren't permanent—they're just stepping stones to learning and growth. We kicked off the school year using them for community-building activities and team challenges like \"Stop the Bus\" (category word games) and drawing games like Pictionary. These activities sparked so much collaboration, laughter, and connection right from day one.\r\n\r\nBeyond team games, they have already become an important tool for our academic lessons. This week, we used them in math to show our thinking around place value—translating numbers between standard, expanded, and word form. The quick \"wipe-away\" nature of the boards encourages students to take bold academic risks and test out their ideas without the fear of getting something \"wrong\" on paper. Plus, having students flash their boards my way gives me instant, real-time feedback on who has mastered a concept and who needs a little extra guidance.\r\n\r\nThese tools have truly brought an extra layer of engagement and confidence to our daily routine.
