As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, I work with students with a wide variety of communication needs, and having access to snacks has been a wonderful way to provide additional support when students need it. Many of my students have busy school days and may arrive at speech feeling hungry, tired, or having difficulty focusing. The snacks will allow me to quietly provide support when it is genuinely needed so that students can remain focused and ready to participate in learning and therapy.\r\n\r\n Rather than making the snacks a daily activity or telling students that they are always available, I plan to use them thoughtfully throughout the school year for students who may need that extra boost. This allows the supplies to last and ensures that they are available during times when a student may really benefit from them. A small snack can make a meaningful difference in a student's ability to participate, communicate, and feel ready to learn. I am so grateful to have these resources available in my speech room and to know that I can help meet a student's immediate need without taking away from valuable instructional time. \r\n\r\n Your generosity has provided more than snacks—it has given me another way to support my students as whole learners.
