One of the most exciting moments was seeing my students become more involved in the lesson because they were able to use the materials rather than simply learning from a textbook or presentation. They worked together, asked questions, shared their ideas, and were excited to see how the concepts we discussed in class connected to the real world. These resources have helped create an environment where my students feel comfortable exploring, making observations, and learning from one another.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited when they first saw the new materials! They immediately wanted to know what we would be doing with them and when they would get the opportunity to use them. Their excitement turned into curiosity as they began exploring the resources and asking thoughtful questions. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and to watch them realize that science can be interactive, and creative. \r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue using these resources as we move deeper into our current science lessons. Students will have opportunities to collaborate, conduct hands-on activities, make observations, and apply what they have learned to real-world situations. I am especially excited to see how they continue building their confidence as young scientists. These experiences will encourage them to ask questions, think critically, and understand that science is not just something they read about—it is something they can explore and experience for themselves.","fullyFundedDate":1781779433569,"projectUrl":"project/stocking-our-science-classroom/10318474/","projectTitle":"Stocking Our Science Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sanders","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10522891"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_18614","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":274,"numTeachers":15,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":81,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"5 - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"18.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":54.5,"schoolId":18614,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Laurel Upper Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Laurel Upper Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/mississippi/laurel-school-district/maddox-elementary-school/18614"}
