We are currently working on learning about identifying kitchen tools and how to use measuring cups and spoons. Because of your donation, we are able to provide each student in the class with their own personal measuring cups or spoons so that they can practice life skills. Last week, we made chocolate cake in a cup where they had to measure all of the ingredients using their new measuring cups! The kids loved the cake and even helped clean up after! \r\n\r\nOnce they saw the new kitchen tools, they actually started clapping because they love to cook and they know with the new tools, that they will be able to cook even more! We are planning to make cookies, brownies, cake, muffins, pizza, grilled cheese, soup, pretzels, and breakfast sandwiches to just name a few! \r\n\r\nNot only is your donation helpful to them in the classroom, but also for life at home. Many of our students don't get the chance to help cook at home so the more comfortable they get here using these tools, the easier it is for them to transfer those skills into their own lives. I have had several parents who have said that the skills they have learned in class are being used at home. And that couldn't be done without your help! The ultimate goal of our program is to create as much independence as possible, and cooking is such a large part of every day life. Your gifts have blessed me, my students, as well as their families. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It makes hard days a little less hard when I know there are people around that also want to see my students succeed!","fullyFundedDate":1754592121370,"projectUrl":"project/not-enough-cooks-in-the-kitchen/9490977/","projectTitle":"Not Enough Cooks in the Kitchen!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McKenzie McCarty","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9581011"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_10363","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2479,"numTeachers":178,"percentFrplEligible":80,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":34,"percentWhite":13,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":45,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"13.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":55.1,"schoolId":10363,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about M.B.
