My high school kids won't visit the library, but they love to borrow books from me. I have several students who bring their lunches into my room and sit on their phones or visit with me. I would like to bring new titles into my classroom to entice more students to read. It would be amazing to introduce them to adventures through books during lunchtime. I will also implement more independent reading time during class, but at the moment, I don't have enough books to go around. I need books and bookshelves. With a dedicated reading area in my classroom, I can offer them so much more than they can find on their phones.
