New Literacy Supplies Today\" and making it possible for my young students to have new learning materials for small groups, math and center time. My students were so excited to see the boxes arrive and used the emotion puzzles the day they arrived. They have quickly become a favorite puzzle in the classroom. In addition, the new magic boards are great for writing letters, numbers and using in drawing and writing. All of these materials will help students become readers and writers as they develop pre-literacy skills and learn through playful opportunities each day.\r\n\r\nI was really amazed when my project got funded. It is the generosity of all the donors that made my project a reality. I was excited to receive the Lego trucks as I was beginning the unit Building Our Working City. They love them and get to pretend they are builders at the block table. Also all the art materials are a great addition to our Art Studio and have been added to the art bins and they have been busy creating with the art wheels and bingo markers.\r\n\r\nIn my classroom, we have been doing a lot of shared writing and reading charts to help children to see print. They really enjoy making the charts, and then turning it into a class book for the library. All of the colored pencils will be used as they illustrate their page in the class books. I am excited to add this component to the curriculum and provide more opportunities for children to draw and see themselves as authors and illustrators. Thank you for making all of this learning possible for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1764728521114,"projectUrl":"project/hip-hip-hooray-new-literacy-supplies/9770064/","projectTitle":"Hip, Hip, Hooray! They enjoy the using the finger highlighter to keep their place while reading and they love the magnetic bingo chip wand the most! We use the wand and chips with the elkonin box trays to help us blend out our sounds. \r\n\r\nMy students also love Fridays when they get to play the Splash reading games. It has become a huge hit with all of my students. They always ask if we can play the game again next time! One of my students said \"That game really helped me learn how to read the word seagull. The books you helped provide expanded our classroom library and gave students access to more culturally responsive stories that reflect their backgrounds and experiences. It has been so powerful to see students light up when they find characters who look like them or share similar traditions and languages.\r\n\r\nThe phoneme phones have become a daily tool during our literacy block. Students love using them to hear themselves as they practice decoding and fluency, it's helped boost their confidence and independence with reading. The giant timer has also been a game changer for transitions and group work, giving students a visual cue to manage their time and stay on track.\r\n\r\nAnd of course, the classroom snacks have been a lifesaver! Having access to healthy snacks throughout the day has helped students stay focused and feel cared for.\r\n\r\nWe're currently working on building strong reading habits, and with these new tools and books in hand, students are off to a great start. When the electric stapler, colorful duct tape, and composition notebooks arrived, my students were thrilled. The electric stapler became an instant favorite—students love using it to \"publish\" their final pieces, giving them a real sense of pride and ownership in their work.\r\n\r\nThe composition notebooks are being used as personal writing journals. Each student has decorated theirs using the vibrant duct tape, making them truly their own. One student said, \"This is my favorite notebook ever—I feel like a real author!\"\r\n\r\nThese tools have helped us launch our first writing unit with energy and purpose. Students are drafting personal narratives, and seeing their work bound and displayed has made the writing process feel authentic and exciting.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll begin our poetry unit, where students will continue to use their journals for drafting and reflecting. This new technology has provided us with the tools we need to create long-lasting and durable educational materials that are helping students engage and learn in new ways.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting aspects for our students has been the ability to laminate fluency cards, vocabulary cards, and various games. The durability of these laminated resources means they are now much more versatile, allowing us to reuse them regularly in different activities without worrying about wear and tear. Whether it's for reading, math practice, or interactive games, our students are more engaged than ever. Having access to these resources in such a durable form has really enhanced their learning experiences, and they get excited about using them every day.\r\n\r\nWe've also noticed that certain students, particularly those who benefit from visual and hands-on learning, have warmed especially to the laminated cards and games. These students are more motivated and confident when they can physically manipulate the materials, which makes the learning process feel more interactive and tangible for them. Overall, the laminator has significantly streamlined our lesson preparation and allowed us to focus more on teaching and student engagement, knowing that the materials will last and hold up over time.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you so much for your support. These materials have made a huge impact on the way we organize and interact with our curriculum.\r\n\r\nWith your support, I've been able to create durable, reusable resources like maps, vocabulary cards, timelines, and primary source activities. Instead of printing new materials each time, we can now use laminated versions again and again — saving time, paper, and keeping everything neat and accessible.\r\n\r\nMy students especially love using dry-erase markers on laminated graphic organizers and map activities.
