Your gift is more than a few pads or tampons—it is dignity, confidence, and opportunity.\r\n\r\nYou have given them more than products; you have given them the freedom to show up fully in life. You have reminded them that they matter, that their future matters, and that there are people who care deeply about their well-being.\r\n\r\nThank you for standing with these young women. Your kindness is breaking down barriers, restoring confidence, and creating a brighter, more equitable future—one girl at a time.\r\n\r\nI did not ask the girls to write thank you cards, because I wanted each girl to help themselves without calling attention to an already sometimes embarrassing subject. The sweatpants that were donated to our students are cozy, soft and warm and just the thing when students come in with pants that have gotten ripped, stained from art projects, or wet and dirty from too much pacific northwest outdoor play on the playground! Putting on a clean, fresh pair of pants feels like a hug from home. Plus, it cannot be overstated, what an important thing it is to have a replacement pair of pants that doesn't harm their sense of pride or get them teased! Students are very sensitive to looking good and fitting in with their peers.\r\n\r\nTherefore, your donation is of great impact on these students who are doing their best and showing up every day to learn and grow and become their best selves. The additional space allows students to spread out comfortably during whole-group lessons, small-group activities, and play-based learning. With more room, students are less distracted by being too close to one another and can better focus on the activity or instruction at hand. The rug also creates a clear, welcoming gathering area that helps establish routine and structure.\r\n\r\nDuring play-based learning, the larger rug encourages collaboration by giving students a safe, comfortable space to work together with building materials, puzzles, games, or dramatic play items. It promotes movement and exploration while still defining boundaries, so the classroom remains organized.\r\n\r\nThis project has improved the classroom by supporting a more positive learning environment. Students are more engaged, transitions run more smoothly, and there are fewer conflicts over space. The larger rug has also helped foster a stronger sense of community, as students enjoy having a shared place to learn, play, and grow together.","fullyFundedDate":1746545724281,"projectUrl":"project/rugrats-kinders/9195620/","projectTitle":"Rugrats Kinder's","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Woodfork","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9540372_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715380345054","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9540372"},{"teacherId":8648899,"projectId":9136812,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to our classroom!\r\n\r\nOur classroom finally has clean and functioning rugs, as well as stools that support small group instruction. It has been such a huge game changer. I've been able to set up a miniature store within our room where students are earning funds from good behavior, work completion or participation, among other areas. I've been able to teach my students real-world scenarios within this and really show them what it might be like when they grow up. \r\n They get fines for misbehavior or breaking rules, pay rent for their desks and chairs, earn a paycheck every two weeks for their classroom jobs, and whatever money they have left, they can spend in our store. I was able to provide them with play registers that still function much like the real ones, so we have cashiers for our store as well. \r\n They love being able to save up and spend it on some of the bigger ticket items like the slime, the Squishmallows, and the inflatable guitars. I've even seen some students give others some of their funds when they can't afford a specific item. It has been such a wholesome and educational experience for me and my students. It's something I would have never been able to do without your support.\r\n They are able to shop every other Friday after they have budgeted for their bills and fines. It's probably what they look forward too the most in the week. I'd love next year to continue this experience and perhaps include things like inflation, rent increases etc.","fullyFundedDate":1731536252173,"projectUrl":"project/a-classroom-economy/8905970/","projectTitle":"A Classroom Economy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lauren","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9355909_orig.png?crop=828,827,x0,y237&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1702833837818","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9355909"},{"teacherId":9799729,"projectId":8869625,"letterContent":"Thank you all so much for your donations!
