Plus, it cannot be overstated, what an important thing it is to have a replacement pair of pants that doesn't harm their sense of pride or get them teased! The rug also creates a clear, welcoming gathering area that helps establish routine and structure.\r\n\r\nDuring play-based learning, the larger rug encourages collaboration by giving students a safe, comfortable space to work together with building materials, puzzles, games, or dramatic play items. It promotes movement and exploration while still defining boundaries, so the classroom remains organized.\r\n\r\nThis project has improved the classroom by supporting a more positive learning environment. It has been such a huge game changer. I've been able to set up a miniature store within our room where students are earning funds from good behavior, work completion or participation, among other areas. I've been able to teach my students real-world scenarios within this and really show them what it might be like when they grow up. \r\n They get fines for misbehavior or breaking rules, pay rent for their desks and chairs, earn a paycheck every two weeks for their classroom jobs, and whatever money they have left, they can spend in our store. I was able to provide them with play registers that still function much like the real ones, so we have cashiers for our store as well. \r\n They love being able to save up and spend it on some of the bigger ticket items like the slime, the Squishmallows, and the inflatable guitars. I've even seen some students give others some of their funds when they can't afford a specific item. It has been such a wholesome and educational experience for me and my students. It's something I would have never been able to do without your support.\r\n They are able to shop every other Friday after they have budgeted for their bills and fines. It's probably what they look forward too the most in the week.
