My 5th graders were practically bouncing out of their seats to see what stories they'd get to dive into. Many of my students don't always have access to high-interest books outside of school, so opening up this new collection felt like unwrapping treasures meant just for them. The joy on their faces as they each picked up a book was priceless—it turned our classroom into a buzzing little reading community.\r\n\r\nThese books are already making a difference in the way my students approach reading. We're using them to practice important skills like identifying main ideas, analyzing characters, and making text-to-self connections. What I love most is how the students are beginning to carry conversations beyond the pages—debating characters' choices, predicting endings, and even recommending books to one another. Reading no longer feels like \"just an assignment\"—it feels like a shared adventure.\r\n\r\nOne of my quieter students, who rarely raised her hand before, has now found her voice in our reading discussions. She can't wait to talk about the twists in her new favorite book, and her enthusiasm is inspiring others to jump in too. These moments remind me why access to engaging texts matters so much—it builds confidence, fosters community, and creates lifelong readers. Your generosity has made this possible, and my students and I are endlessly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1754016805499,"projectUrl":"project/growing-minds-with-every-chapter/9457038/","projectTitle":"Growing Minds with Every Chapter!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sutton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10052779_orig.jpg?crop=2544,2544,x0,y347&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749690799722","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10052779"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_10696","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":987,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":41,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":83,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"3 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"19.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":78.6,"schoolId":10696,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lumberton Intermediate School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lumberton Intermediate School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/lumberton-independent-school-district/lumberton-intermediate-school/10696"}
