Through these digital resources, I can quickly adjust lessons to meet different learning levels, provide extra practice where needed, and introduce concepts in an interactive, fun way. Students receive immediate feedback, which helps them understand mistakes and grow from them right away. This makes learning more accessible and helps each student build confidence at their own pace.\r\n\r\nMy students get excited when using the interactive and engaging resource! Instead of traditional worksheets, they get to explore content through colorful visuals, hands-on activities, and creative formats that make learning feel fun and meaningful. Many of the materials feel more like games or challenges, which increases motivation and keeps students actively involved in their learning.\r\n\r\nI've seen especially positive responses from students who may struggle with traditional instruction or need extra support. These students often thrive when given interactive and visually engaging materials because the content feels more approachable and less overwhelming. I've also noticed that quieter students or those who may lack confidence are more willing to participate and take risks when using these resources, as they can work at their own pace and experience success more independently.","fullyFundedDate":1772810803335,"projectUrl":"project/building-minds-one-resource-at-a-time/10024321/","projectTitle":"Building Minds, One Resource at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kruse","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10020497_orig.jpg?crop=1536,1536,x0,y117&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1776277941319","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10020497"},{"teacherId":10020497,"projectId":9720713,"letterContent":"Technology in our classroom plays a meaningful role in helping students learn by making lessons more interactive, accessible, and engaging. Many of my students benefit from hands-on, multi-sensory experiences, and tools like sensory boxes and Tonie boxes allow them to actively participate in their learning rather than just observe. These resources support language development, listening skills, creativity, and focus, while also giving students opportunities to explore at their own pace and in ways that match their individual learning styles.\r\n\r\nWhat is most exciting to my students about the Tonie boxes is the independence and joy they bring. Students can choose a character, place it on the box, and immediately engage with stories, music, and lessons. This sense of control builds confidence and keeps them motivated. The combination of sound, storytelling, and tactile interaction captures their attention in a way that traditional methods sometimes cannot.\r\n\r\nI have several students who have especially connected with this technology. For example, some students who are typically hesitant to participate in group activities become more engaged when using the Tonie box, which provides a low-pressure, inviting way to interact with the content. Others who are developing language skills are drawn to the repetition and storytelling features, which help them build vocabulary and comprehension. I've also seen students who struggle with focus remain engaged for longer periods when using these tools, as the sensory and interactive elements help meet their needs.\r\n\r\nOverall, this technology is not just a tool—it's a bridge that helps my students connect with learning in meaningful, enjoyable, and effective ways.","fullyFundedDate":1767244013472,"projectUrl":"project/active-learning-for-lifelong-success/9720713/","projectTitle":"Active Learning for Lifelong Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kruse","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10020497_orig.jpg?crop=1536,1536,x0,y117&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1776277941319","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10020497"},{"teacherId":3347371,"projectId":9437523,"letterContent":"I want to say Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom at the beginning of this year. We are absolutely loving them! These magazines have been such a powerful tool for showing students that reading isn't just something you do in a book, it's something you do to learn about the world. Each issue introduces engaging nonfiction texts that help students practice key skills such as identifying main ideas, using text features, making inferences, and supporting answers with evidence. The articles spark curiosity and give students real reasons to read closely and think deeply.\r\n\r\n Reading in our classroom is active, collaborative, and joyful. Students read independently, partner up to discuss articles, annotate texts, and participate in whole group conversations where they share questions and discoveries. The magazines have been especially helpful for teaching how to navigate nonfiction text structures, interpret charts and images, and build vocabulary in meaningful ways. Students are excited to see current topics reflected in their reading, and many eagerly ask when the next issue will arrive.\r\n\r\n Several students who were once hesitant readers have shown newfound confidence and enthusiasm when reading these magazines. The shorter articles and high interest topics make the texts feel accessible, and students feel proud when they can successfully read, discuss, and teach others what they've learned. With the hands-on manipulatives provided through this project, phonics instruction has become both engaging and meaningful. Students who once struggled to participate now eagerly gather their materials and become active learners. The tools have encouraged language growth, curiosity, and confidence — and most importantly, sparked a genuine love for learning.\r\n\r\nOur students now look forward to UFLI time every day, and their excitement is contagious. One of their absolute favorite tools is the \"sound phone,\" which allows them to hear their own voices as they practice letter sounds and blend words. Watching them proudly sound out letters and words while smiling into their sound phones has been a remarkable reminder of how powerful these resources truly are. These manipulatives have helped turn phonics time into a moment of success and joy.\r\n\r\nThanks to this project, students are not just practicing phonics — they are discovering their voices, celebrating progress, and building the foundation for lifelong literacy. With the basic supplies provided, students have been able to participate in everyday tasks such as handwriting sheets, coloring pages, and fine motor cutting activities—tasks that build foundational academic and motor skills. Because our school is Title 1 and many families struggle to provide materials, these supplies have allowed every student to take part equally without worry or limitation. The impact on their confidence, independence, and participation was immediate and noticeable.\r\n\r\nBeyond daily work, the extra craft materials opened the door to creativity, joy, and social-emotional learning in meaningful ways. We've been able to incorporate fun, hands-on projects that still support academic and fine motor development. One special activity that truly stood out was making friendship bracelets. Students practiced threading, focus, pattern-making, and careful finger movement—but even more importantly, they strengthened friendships, learned to share supplies, and showed kindness by gifting their bracelets to classmates. This project was a beautiful reminder that a few simple supplies can make a big difference—academically, socially, and emotionally.\r\n\r\nYour support has made our classroom a place where learning is accessible, creativity is encouraged, and community is built one small activity at a time.
