Integrating art into daily instruction strengthens critical thinking, creativity, and student engagement.\r\n\r\nYour donation helps foster a well-rounded educational environment where all students can explore, create, and grow. Instead of papers, books, and supplies ending up on desks or the floor, everything had a clear home right on the back of each student's chair. That alone reduced clutter and the constant \"Where did my...\" interruptions.\r\n\r\nThey also supported independence. First graders spend a lot of time learning routines, and pocket chairs let them manage their own materials-folders, notebooks, crayons-without needing to ask the teacher as often. That builds confidence and smoother transitions between activities.\r\n\r\nTransitions themselves became easier. When it was time to switch from reading to math or clean up, students didn't have to search their desks. They just reached behind them, tucked things in, and were ready to move on. It saved time and lowered the chaos that can happen between lessons.\r\n\r\nThey even helped with behavior and focus. With fewer items scattered on desks, there was less visual distraction. Kids could keep their workspace cleaner, which tends to translate into better attention during instruction.\r\n\r\nAnd in a subtle way, pocket chairs supported literacy and learning routines too—books, guided reading folders, and sight word lists were always within reach, so small group work and independent reading ran more smoothly.\r\n\r\nOverall, they made the classroom feel more organized and predictable, which is a big deal in first grade where structure and routine really set the tone for learning.","fullyFundedDate":1759354655661,"projectUrl":"project/pockets-for-classroom-chairs/9716050/","projectTitle":"Pockets for Classroom Chairs","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mays","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3293630_orig.png?crop=405,405,x212,y425&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1668187677813","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3293630"},{"teacherId":5187591,"projectId":10131500,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your continued support of our classroom library.
