We really need to thank you for our Gaga Ball Pit. It arrived with just a couple weeks left in the semester, but it instantly became a favorite with our students and was appreciated, with many of the students asking on the last day of school if it will still be here in the fall (Yes! Yes, it will be!).\r\n\r\nWhen it first arrived, it took awhile to get unloaded from the pallet and to get it figured out. We had high schoolers help us get it all figured out as far as putting it together and taking it apart. And, of course, they had to test it out to make sure it works. After the initial setup, we were able to figure out a system for moving inside our outside and to put together quickly. After this was figured out with patient students, we \"taught\" some more students in the high school and junior high. By the end of the week, kids knew how to set it up and tear down quickly, allowing us to have it available outside during lunches.\r\n\r\nThe kids have had a blast. One of the great things about the game is that once students know the rules, they mainly monitor themselves and call each other out in a fun manner when a student is out. Even when they're out, kids are sticking close, ready to jump back in when the next round starts. Kids of all skill levels have a blast, and it really is a fun game for everyone. The only issue is when being used in the high 80 temperatures, kids are a little ripe coming in from lunch... at least they have used up energy for the afternoon classes!\r\n\r\nWe will be able to use this game year-round inside and outside for a long time to come. We will be adding this to our rotation of lunch activities, so students will not get tired of it after playing it too much. I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your generous donation of pickleball paddles, balls, and nets to our classroom. Your support has truly transformed our physical education program and has made a significant impact on my students.\r\n\r\nSince we received the equipment, my students have been eagerly engaging in learning the fundamentals of pickleball. Just last week, during our first practice session, I witnessed the excitement on their faces as they unwrapped the paddles and saw the nets set up for the first time. They quickly gathered around, ready to learn and support one another. It was heartwarming to see them practicing hand-eye coordination through drills and playing friendly matches, all while fostering teamwork and communication. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and encouragement, emphasizing the inclusivity that pickleball promotes.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to integrate pickleball into our regular physical education curriculum, providing students with opportunities to refine their skills and participate in friendly tournaments. This will not only enhance their physical fitness but also instill a sense of belonging and community among them. I believe that the skills they develop through this sport will last a lifetime, encouraging them to remain active and engaged in their future communities. Your generous contribution has made this possible, and for that, I am incredibly thankful.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your support and for believing in our students.
