They were eager to dive in. Many expressed how much they appreciated the opportunity to engage with the materials hands-on. The excitement in the room was palpable, and it was clear that they were looking forward to applying what they had learned more tangibly.\r\nThrough our activities, students have started using breathing techniques and identifying their emotions. Next, we will apply these skills to real-life situations with role-playing exercises that depict social scenarios like disagreements, feelings of exclusion, and classroom frustrations. They will utilize coping strategies such as deep breathing, positive self-talk, and pausing before reacting to manage their emotions effectively. We want to express our gratitude for your generous contribution.","fullyFundedDate":1736988161691,"projectUrl":"project/mental-health-matters/8806415/","projectTitle":"Mental Health Matters","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Farquharson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9588704_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737942088061","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9588704"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_23734","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":319,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":76,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":19,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"8.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":79.4,"schoolId":23734,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Benjamin Turner Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Benjamin Turner Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/mount-vernon-city-school-district/longfellow-middle-school/23734"}
