The social-emotional coping tools and behavioral support resources you helped provide have been invaluable for my team in guiding students toward their goals.\r\n\r\nThe Play-Doh was an absolute hit with every student! One child, in particular, learned to both spell and read his sight words using laminated sight word sheets and Play-Doh—what an exciting breakthrough! Paired with the textured alphabet and number cards, my students came into class eager to find and use these materials each day.\r\n\r\nWhile I've always loved creating homemade games, the purchased resources brought a new level of excitement. The Fidget CVC Word Games, Sneaky Elves Sight Word Game, Sight Word Carpet Markers, and Dino Stomp! were all instant favorites. These interactive tools made learning fun, and the academic and social growth I witnessed in my students was remarkable. The tablet doodle pads offered a refreshing alternative to traditional paper-and-pencil work, making writing practice more engaging.\r\n\r\nThe weighted stuffed animal was truly transformative. For many students, it became a reliable transition tool between activities and locations, especially for those who found change challenging. It also served as a calming, comforting companion during moments when students needed a break or emotional regulation.\r\n\r\nI even learned how to incorporate the sand tray—mess and all! Despite the cleanup, seeing my students' faces light up as they spelled words and explored concepts made every grain of sand worth it. The Bubblebrix letters and numbers were another huge success, helping students learn their basics while building fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills.\r\n\r\nLast year was my first time participating in Donors Choose, and I returned this year excited to explore new projects—only to realize I never sent my thank-you note. Please accept this heartfelt message, even many months later. Your generosity has left a lasting impact on my students' learning, growth, and joy in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1733249459709,"projectUrl":"project/unlocking-hidden-brilliance-tools-for-e/8791037/","projectTitle":"Unlocking Hidden Brilliance: Tools for Exceptional Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kerstetter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9752787_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y671&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727673818223","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9752787"},{"teacherId":2364525,"projectId":8710949,"letterContent":"The resources that were purchased through your donation has INSPIRED my students to ENHANCE their READING and MATH skills in so many ways, but the BEST part is that they are having FUN doing it! \r\n\r\nThe MATH BOXES have taught my students more about adding, subtracting, time, money, place value and shapes!\r\n\r\nThe MATH and READING JOURNALS have helped my students learn more about foundational skills that will help strengthen that foundation to be more successful in their educational road to success! \r\n\r\nIt was so THOUGHTFUL and KIND for you to FUND our request, and it has definitely made an IMPACT on how my students have learned, and how much more they have learned because of it!\r\n\r\nTHANK YOU so very much for helping to EDUCATE the future! Thanks to your contribution, we were able to provide our young learners with exciting and engaging math materials, including magnet blocks, math shapes, and building toys. These resources are already making a significant impact in our classroom, and I cannot thank you enough for making this possible.\r\n\r\nFor our kindergarten students, math time is now filled with hands-on exploration and creativity. The magnet blocks and math shapes allow them to visualize and interact with math concepts in a fun and meaningful way. The building toys encourage problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking, all while reinforcing key math skills.\r\n\r\nYour gift has not only enhanced the learning environment but has also sparked a love for math in our students. It's truly amazing to see their excitement as they build, explore, and discover through play. You've helped to lay a strong foundation for their future academic success, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your incredible generosity and support. My students have been loving the materials and getting to use new things I've never incorporated in the classroom before. My first memory with some of the materials is the watercolor paper and pallets. I've never used water color in the classroom as I've been intimidated by it with 5 year olds. This project was so fun and exciting, painting pumpkins for a layering project. The kids were excited to use the paint and did such a good job using all the materials. This project would not have been possible without this donation. The alphabet soup cans is a huge hit in the classroom, as students ask \"When do we get to open out next can of soup?\" And get so excited guessing what's inside. They have been a great addition to our phonics lessons and make the students engaged. My next step is incorporating the whisper phones for sounding out and decoding sounds to build words and start writing on their own. So many future projects to come which will create lots of excited and great learning. \r\nThank you again to our donors for funding out project.","fullyFundedDate":1724611485351,"projectUrl":"project/engaging-in-learning/8696907/","projectTitle":"Engaging in Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gavlak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8483565_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1653546723593","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8483565"},{"teacherId":9684909,"projectId":8712584,"letterContent":"My students were so excited for the new supplies and materials for our classroom! They were engaged and opt to reread it during our reading times as well! It has been such a great connection to help them see math in their every day life. They made lots of connections to video games and technology and realized those modern things would not exist without math. \r\n\r\nStudents have also gotten to use the wonderful seating options to not always be at their desks. Things like colored pencils are a luxury, and to have a few sets to use is a delight. We also received scissors, which were actually student sized! It definitely is nice to have these things without needing to borrow from others! We will definitely get a couple of school years out of these, and it's nice to feel prepared! \r\n\r\nWe also received a set of leveled reader books with a character (a puppy) named Biscuit. I had a couple of those books in our library prior, but the students were always asking for more. They were delighted to have more books in the series. \r\n\r\nFinally, we got some lights to decorate and some themed bookmarks.
