They love being able to take ownership of their work, from completing digital assignments to exploring interactive lessons that bring concepts to life. For some students who previously struggled to stay engaged, the tablet has become a motivating tool that helps them focus and participate more actively.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular has especially connected with this technology. Similarly, they are able to find stories that interest them which is helping them learn how fun reading can be. These projects encourage students to delve deeper into the subject matter, promoting research, collaboration, and presentation skills., in which I will share in more details.\r\n\r\nThe students' initial reactions to the new materials was overwhelmingly positive. The students were happy to be able to foster their own pencil box with everything they needed to get their projects done without waiting for others to finish with supplies.\r\n\r\nMy 7th grade students used the resources for the History of Hawaiian Trading Cards and Comics as well as making in detail, their 12-Panel Globe with information about their chosen island that covered its people and culture, 21st-century challenges, political status, economy and resources, the flag, the map, geography, unique features and quick facts. \r\n\r\nThe students also added reflection panels on their personal connections to the island, the person they liked learning about the most and their favorite learning experiences. This project allows students to apply their knowledge creatively and engagingly as well as allowing for a deeper understanding of the chosen Pacific Island.\r\n\r\nMy 6th grade students completed World Civilization Projects Trading Cards by choosing a Greek Philosopher, a Greek god, and a made up Greek god describing their life and challenges they faced, drawing and coloring it to share with the class. They also had fun lesson packets with drawing and coloring pages as well as songs to sing and learn.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my up coming 6th and 7th-grade students will be to continue these projects and adding other fun ones, preparing more presentations, and continue practicing their public speaking skills through creative acting in plays in the classroom on the lessons they are learning about.\r\n\r\nAgain, I thank you and my students thank you for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1746786141957,"projectUrl":"project/cultivating-global-citizens-journeys-th/9172874/","projectTitle":"Cultivating Global Citizens: Journeys Through World Civilization & Hawaiian Heritage","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Summers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9311337_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1702516915147","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9311337"},{"teacherId":9681443,"projectId":9158081,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom now has a GoPro that's changing how students learn.
