Many of my students struggle academically and behaviorally. They are all special education students with Individualized Education Plans. The Literacy in Early Grades will be used as a supplemental activity when working with students that struggle with learning how to read. The hand2mind kit, the less than/greater than magnet, and the laminated multiplication table will provide a visual and tactile tool that will help with comprehension of the material being taught. I teach in a self-contained classroom for at risk youth. Since we live on an island, our students struggle identifying the mainland states and where they are located. Race Across the USA will be a fun game and supplemental activity to help them engage and stay engaged. We lack funding for a science lab, so The Science Teacher Activity a Day will be used as an introduction during science class to get their attention. The stools will be used as a sensory item to help keep them focused.
