Before, some struggled to focus while sitting at traditional desks for long periods, and it was difficult for me to meet the needs of every learner at the same time. Now, students can choose a seat that allows them to focus best—whether it's cushioned floor seat, or a seat near the front of the room. This freedom has helped them stay engaged and attentive during lessons and independent work, which has led to noticeable improvements in participation and overall classroom energy.\r\nThe handwriting tablets have been especially exciting for students. They enjoy practicing math, and sentences in a fun, interactive way. Students who typically hesitate to try new activities are now eager to participate because they can explore and learn at their own pace with the tablets.\r\nIn addition to the seating and tablets, the new books, games, and headphones have enriched our classroom in ways that go beyond academics. Students love curling up with the new books during independent reading time, and the educational games allow them to practice skills like math, reading comprehension, and problem-solving while having fun with classmates.\r\nThe variety of options allows every student to find something that excites them and meets their learning style. Some students love using the tablets for writing practice, while others are drawn to the books or enjoy working on games with friends. The headphones give students who need quiet space the chance to focus deeply, and flexible seating helps those who need movement stay attentive.\r\nOverall, these resources have made our classroom a more dynamic, supportive, and joyful place for learning. Students are more engaged, excited, and confident, and I am able to support their learning in new ways that meet their individual needs.","fullyFundedDate":1746786085331,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-learning-through-effective-cl/9281608/","projectTitle":"Empowering Learning Through Effective Classroom Tool Use","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mckeown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8457896_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1658003306721","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8457896"},{"teacherId":8457896,"projectId":9187496,"letterContent":"My students and I are already putting the new resources to good use during our daily lessons. One special moment was when we used the materials in a small reading group—students were fully engaged, eager to participate, and using the tools to better understand the story. It was wonderful to see how the resources brought the lesson to life.\r\nThey were thrilled! Their faces lit up, and many couldn't wait to dive right in. Several students even asked if we could use the materials every day, which shows how exciting and meaningful they are for our classroom.\r\nNext, we'll be using these resources to move into more challenging reading and math activities. The goal is to help students build independence and confidence as they apply what they've learned with the support of these tools.","fullyFundedDate":1746785732527,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-minds-with-essential-classroo/9187496/","projectTitle":"Empowering Minds with Essential Classroom Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mckeown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8457896_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1658003306721","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8457896"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_15214","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":384,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"13.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":67.5,"schoolId":15214,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lizana Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lizana Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/mississippi/harrison-county-school-district/lizana-elementary-school/15214"}
