The Ozobot robots have been a wonderful addition to our Family STEAM Club before school. As we invite students and their families to join us in the mornings, the Ozobots have created meaningful, hands-on learning moments. Students are beginning to learn the basics of coding, teaching their siblings how to code, and even explaining the process to the guardians who join us.\r\n\r\nThe Ozobots have sparked students' curiosity about coding and nurtured their growing love of robotics. By using markers and color patterns, students learned that the patterns \"seen\" by the robots communicate specific commands, such as spin, move backward, or zig-zag. Once they understood that these patterns function as code, students were able to design their own pathways to direct the Ozobots' movements. This visual, interactive approach has helped build a strong foundation in coding concepts.\r\n\r\nWe are excited for the next step, when our older students will transfer their coding skills to the computer and begin programming the Ozobots digitally.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and for investing in our students and their future.","fullyFundedDate":1763593462913,"projectUrl":"project/our-school-makers-coding-creating-and/9738843/","projectTitle":"Our School Makers: Coding, Creating, and Coming to School!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hill","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9993103"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_32636","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":704,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":72,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"21.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":82.8,"schoolId":32636,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Little Lake Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Little Lake Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/hemet-unified-school-district/little-lake-elementary-school/32636"}
