These items have been thoughtfully integrated into our daily routines and have already made a meaningful impact in the classroom. Many of the donated tools have helped reduce student anxiety, prevent meltdowns, and improve overall focus during learning activities.\r\nThe noise-canceling headphones, in particular, have made a significant difference during our school-wide assemblies. Students who previously struggled with loud environments are now able to participate alongside their peers. By reducing overwhelming noise, the headphones allow students to remain engaged, comfortable, and included during these events.\r\nSeveral of my students are also using the putty to work toward their fine motor goals. This has served as an excellent brain break while simultaneously strengthening hand muscles and improving coordination. It has been both a calming and productive tool for them.\r\nThe pencil grippers have provided valuable support during handwriting tasks by reducing hand fatigue and frustration. With these supports, students are able to write more comfortably, maintain proper grip, and produce clearer written work, which has boosted their confidence.\r\nStudents have also greatly enjoyed using the scented markers during math activities. These markers have increased motivation and engagement, especially during lessons involving math and fractions. The added sensory element has made learning more enjoyable and interactive for them.\r\nLastly, thank you for the digital clock. This has been an extremely helpful tool for teaching time awareness and self-management. Students are better able to track how much time they are spending during sessions, which supports independence and smoother transitions.\r\nOverall, these donations have had a positive and lasting impact on my students' learning, emotional regulation, and classroom experience. Thank you again for your generosity and continued support.","fullyFundedDate":1759427507156,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-special-education-students-this/9581509/","projectTitle":"Help My Special Education Students this School Year!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ortiz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10172094"},{"teacherId":9795362,"projectId":9749439,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity and willingness to provide resources for my students. The decodable readers make reading enjoyable for them and engages them with the vivid images. The books also are helping to build up their confidence in their reading skills and I can already see them growing into more confident readers. Your donation has made a meaningful difference!\r\n\r\nThe wobble stools have been incredibly effective in supporting students who need movement to stay focused. Instead of feeling restless or distracted, these students can now wiggle, lean, and gently move while still engaging deeply in their work. Several students have shared that the stools help them \"get their energy out\" while still completing their tasks. This simple shift has increased their stamina and confidence during independent work time.\r\n\r\nThe overhead lighting covers have transformed the tone and comfort of our classroom. Harsh fluorescent lights often made it difficult for students to relax and concentrate, especially during reading and writing. With the softening effect of the light filters, our room now feels warm and welcoming. Students have commented that it \"feels calmer\" and \"less like everything is too bright.\" The change has noticeably improved focus, reduced visual strain, and helped create a peaceful atmosphere where students can do their best thinking.\r\n\r\nThe addition of comfy seating in our class library has elevated our reading community. Students eagerly choose these cozy spots during independent reading, partner reading, and small-group work. The inviting seating has encouraged reluctant readers to stay engaged longer and motivated enthusiastic readers to delve deeper into books with joy. Our library corner has become a favorite placeāa space where students feel safe, comfortable, and excited to read.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped shape a learning environment that honors students' needs, promotes focus, and cultivates a sense of belonging. These items have not only improved academics but have also enriched how students feel about themselves as learners. Thank you for making this possible and for investing in the daily well-being and success of our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1755627050549,"projectUrl":"project/flexing-my-way-back-to-the-classroom/9553736/","projectTitle":"Flexing My Way Back to the Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Morales","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2096482_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1455495339083","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dmm"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_27971","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":581,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":28,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":39,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":31,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"21.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.2,"schoolId":27971,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Linwood E Howe Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Linwood E Howe Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/culver-city-unified-school-district/linwood-e-howe-elementary-school/27971"}
