Think back to your own first days of school. Heading out to the local shops to get those brand new pointy pencils, brand new Trapper Keepers (I said what I said.), and those brand new, shiny boxes of sharp, bright, colorful crayons. There was an air of excitement, an undeniable air of joy and anticipation. That is what YOU helped provide for my students. \r\n\r\nHow wonderful it was for them to get to pick their own personal pencil box, their own personal supplies. Something to call their own from Day 1. There's something to that old adage, \"Brand new pencils, brand new books!\" Full disclosure, I think the Playdoh was definitely the Fan Favorite! \r\n\r\nWe are in an age where public schools like ours are woefully underfunded. We are finding that these \"essentials\" needed for daily life in the elementary classrooms are no longer priority.
