As a reading interventionist, there are several students who come in and out of my room throughout the day...typically 100-110 each day. At one point during the day, there are 35-42 students in the room at once. We do have chairs, but not enough for everyone. Now, students all have a sturdy place to sit while in my classroom. No one has to sit on the carpet or on the stools with non sturdy legs. With the stools, there is also more space around each of the tables for students to sit. \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the stools, they were in shock. \"We got presents for Christmas?\" They were very excited to know there were new places to sit in the room, and even more excited to know that the new seating was 'brand new'. Being in a public school, much of the furniture in classrooms has been around for years and often is un-matching and \"loved\". Getting anything brand new is exciting for both teachers and students. Upon receiving the stools, some of the younger students even argued over which stools they wanted to sit on due to the excitement. \r\n\r\nWith these new stools, I am excited to have reading skills be our main focus without the distraction of furniture issues. Thank you for your kindness and generosity and your contribution to the students and education.","fullyFundedDate":1732405388897,"projectUrl":"project/have-a-seat/8619016/","projectTitle":"Have a Seat!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Diniz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8970056"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39832","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":597,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"24.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":86.7,"schoolId":39832,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lincoln Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lincoln Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/lincoln-unified-school-district/lincoln-elementary-school/39832"}
