Your contribution have had a profound Your contributions have had a profound impact, enabling us to reach over 700 students at our school. Thanks to the kindness of our donors, each student from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade had the opportunity to explore the medium of clay and express their creativity through original works of art. In Kindergarten, students learned about the origins of clay before crafting their own pinch pots. First graders created texture plates while gaining insight into the firing process of pottery in a kiln. Second graders designed animal pinch pots and practiced the technique of attaching clay pieces together. Third graders, who were studying the Pop Art movement, designed miniature Pop Art sculptures inspired by the renowned artist Claus Oldenburg. Fourth Graders focused on mastering three hand building techniques: pinch pot, coil, and slab. They were challenged to create a piece of art that combined two of these techniques. Lastly, Fifth graders explored the fascinating history of ugly face jugs, leading them to create their own ugly face cups. Requiring them to pull from their past knowledge of how tp effectively attach clay pieces to their body cups.","fullyFundedDate":1732279465861,"projectUrl":"project/clay-creations-molding-young-minds-thro/8646244/","projectTitle":"Clay Creations: Molding Young Minds Through Elementary Art","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rigdon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9653849"},{"teacherId":9742614,"projectId":8763297,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for making this idea of my come true! These math tools will especially help my students who are struggling to see the numbers they are working with as visual representations. Seeing it in a different way can bring about that 'Aha!' moment. Suddenly, it all just clicks and a student finally understands what was unclear so many times before.
