These new books brought so many smiles to faces and helped reach even the most hesitant readers. Many of the books I purchased involve some level of social emotional learning, which helps my students build skills necessary for social and emotional development. \r\n\r\nEach day after recess, my students spend 30 minutes reading a book to themselves. So many of my students ask for more time afterwards because they enjoy reading so much. \r\n\r\nA large portion of this grant went to purchasing graphic novels for my classroom. This helps a large percentage of my students, who have varying needs, such as having dyslexia or being an English Language Learner. These books have brought excitement into the classroom and have helped students grow their love for literacy.
