When they first saw the new carpet and sensory items, their faces lit up with excitement. The carpet has quickly become a special gathering space in our classroom where we meet for read-alouds, productive play lessons, and group activities. The sensory items have been especially helpful for my students, allowing them to regulate their bodies and stay focused during learning activities and carpet time. \r\n\r\nWe have been using the new supplies every day. The snacks help ensure that my students have the energy they need to stay focused and ready to learn throughout the day. Many of my students benefit from frequent breaks and sensory supports, and the new items allow them to reset and return to their work feeling calm and ready. One special moment was during our reading time on the new carpet when students were able to sit comfortably together and fully engage in the story and discussion.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these materials will support our daily lessons in reading, writing, and math. The sensory supports will help students stay engaged and ready to learn, while the classroom supplies will be used during small-group instruction and hands-on activities.
