Students grew their mushrooms (two different times) over the course of several weeks culminating in a mushroom taste test. Half of the students liked the mushrooms, half did not like them, and only one threw up (he really didn't like the taste). \r\n\r\nWe approached the fungus project from an exploration standpoint. Students drew an image of what they thought a mushroom would look like prior to actually seeing them. Then they drew what the mushrooms actually looked like. What a difference! They thoroughly enjoyed all the little projects we did along the way, including their mushroom hats.\r\n\r\nThe next step in our project projection is to build our own mushroom grow kit using a 2 gallon bucket and lid. That will conclude our mushroom focus.
