Where do I even begin. Thank you so much for making it happen! As Always, my students and I were super excited to unbox all the wonderful books. These books have come in handy in more ways than one. They are the perfect set of books to wrap up the year. This set of books have allowed for students to tap into the world of Art while also tapping into who they are as individuals. So far, The Color Monster is a class favorite. Doing morning read alouds have really helped my students make connections and really understand that the emotions they are feeling are normal. I love asking questions throughout the stories and watching their hands go up acknowledging that they too have felt the way the characters have. My favorite part is the applause that follows every read aloud. I am super lucky to have a group of students who love a read aloud.","fullyFundedDate":1774538508275,"projectUrl":"project/story-time-for-the-soul/10129886/","projectTitle":"Story Time for the Soul","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Alba","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8354403_orig.jpg?crop=558,558,x70,y401&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1671652702726","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8354403"},{"teacherId":8354403,"projectId":10124801,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity. We have gotten the opportunity to learn more about our favorite cat, Pusheen. We have also had the opportunity to make connections with the stories read aloud. We have shared laughter, shock and empathy. Some stories have even sparked interest in sequels. Most importantly. these books have allowed us to fall in love with reading all over again. These tools are woven into our daily routines, especially during lessons that require sustained focus or emotional regulation. One powerful moment came during a small-group activity when a student who typically struggles to stay seated was able to remain engaged from start to finish while using therapy putty. The tactile input helped them self-regulate, allowing learning to take place without frustration or disruption.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions said everything—smiles, excitement, and visible relief. Many of them immediately recognized the chewies and putty as tools that help their bodies feel calm and safe. For students who have experienced significant stress and loss of routine, these materials sent a clear message: this classroom understands their needs and is a place where they are supported rather than overwhelmed.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these sensory resources will continue to play a key role as we work through current lessons that require collaboration, problem-solving, and emotional stamina. Whether during independent work, group projects, or moments of transition, students will rely on these tools to stay regulated and ready to learn. Your support has helped rebuild a sense of safety and readiness in our classroom- something my students truly depend on, and something we could not have done without you. Thank you for giving them the tools they need to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1768689295242,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-calming-tools-a-safe-place-to-r/10014661/","projectTitle":"Sensory Calming Tools- A Safe Place To Reset","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. White","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9319550_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762223266214","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mswhite13"},{"teacherId":9319550,"projectId":9541793,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, our classroom feels more alive and more accessible than ever. We've been using the tactile phonics tools, sentence-matching games, and math cards every day—often in small groups or during independent work time. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who typically disengages during electronic lessons light up while matching magnetic letters to build words. Another student who can't grasp a marker was able to fully participate by using the magnets and braille features, staying focused and grounded in the activity instead of becoming frustrated. When the materials first came out, there was instant curiosity—lots of reaching, touching, and smiles. They knew right away these tools were *for them*.\r\n\r\nThese resources have made learning feel like play, which has been huge for my students. Since many of the materials are game-based, my playful students started taking turns and staying engaged longer than I've ever seen during foundational skill work. The hands-on nature has helped students better understand phonics and basic math concepts, especially those who struggle with fine motor skills or need strong tactile input to stay regulated. I've been able to differentiate more easily, meet individual sensory needs, and include every student in the lesson instead of modifying on the fly.\r\n\r\nNext, we're building on these tools by expanding our word-building into simple sentences and using the math cards for early problem-solving and group challenges. Because of this project, I can teach with more confidence knowing my students truly have access to the learning. Thank you for giving us more than supplies—you gave my students a way to feel successful, involved, and excited about learning. We are so grateful for the peek you took into our classroom and for helping make it a place where each of my learners can thrive. 💛 thank you thank you thank you:)","fullyFundedDate":1764743467597,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-based-learning-foundations/9541793/","projectTitle":"Sensory Based Learning Foundations","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. White","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9319550_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762223266214","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mswhite13"},{"teacherId":8354403,"projectId":9884195,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for taking the time to check out our donors choose project and making the decision to donate to it. I have enjoyed getting to see my student become more confident as they communicate with their classmates, friends, parents and communities. Communication connects us all and making their learning process accessible has given them some of the tools they need to grow and meet goals. \r\nMy one student who mostly communicated with gestures and pointing was able to gain a new mode of communication when I printed of a custom communication board for him with the TPT gift card we had funded.
