It was especially exciting to see the rocks, which were so heavy! Everyone gets giddy when they see big packages, and wants a chance to open them. \r\n\r\nSome of the boxes were supplies for our classroom to help keep us healthy, like Lysol wipes and tissues. These supplies are so needed, especially during the cold and flu season, which can really be any time of year in an elementary school. We also received some items to be used in our classroom store. This is our weekly reward system in which students earn classroom money for completing work and doing their classroom job. \r\n\r\nOther items were used for our school-wide quarterly reward event, Rock & Roll Paint Party. Students earn this event by setting and meeting a goal of earning points for positive behavior. The event was to paint a rock in any way they chose. The rocks will then be used to help beautify our campus. We set up the cafeteria in an orange theme, covering tables with orange paper, and setting up painting stations at each table with paint markers and rocks. Students came in and chose a seat. We had a rock-themed playlist to listen to while they decorated. They also received a snack which was a carrot-shaped treat bag filled with orange snacks like goldfish and cheese balls. Now, the vision of a fully immersive \"piano sidewalk\" is a reality, creating a harmonious and joyful experience for every student, teacher, and visitor who walks these grounds each day.\r\n\r\nThis project provided our students with an invaluable opportunity to step away from their desks and engage in meaningful, hands-on work. By trading their chairs for garden tools, they cultivated real-world skills in teamwork, design, and environmental stewardship. There is a special kind of magic in seeing a student's confidence grow as they apply classroom concepts to the physical world.
